• USB-C versions should not be used with mobiles, they are officially not compatible and may give inconsistent results
• Can only be worn with microphone on right side (for mono options, this means the earcup is on the right too)
• No option for active noise cancelling in the earcups

In Detail

Part of Jabra’s new Evolve2 series, The Evolve2 40 range are designed to work with PC/Mac. They connect to a computer or laptop via the integral USB cable. NB No 3.5mm Mobile connection like the old Evolve 40sThere are lots of variants in the range; mono or stereo, Certified for MS Teams (which has a special Teams button) or not (UC), USB-A or USB-C.Unlike the previous Evolve 40 models the Evolve2 40 series DO NOT have a 3.5mm jack to connect to mobile phones. We’re scratching our heads as to why Jabra has removed functionality on an improved model, but there it is. The older Evolve 40s are still around if you need that connection.Jabra have really gone all out on this new series of headsets. They have developed a new digital ‘chipset’ to support the new features and outstanding audio, the materials used also ensure that the look and feel of the Evolve2s is really high end.You will of course get the professional sound quality both ways for your calls and Jabra have levelled up with powerful speakers so you can really enjoy your music whilst you work.These days alot of workers struggle with background noise and this is where the Evolve2s really shine; The larger, oval, isolating foam padded ear-cups are also angled to ensure an excellent fit, eliminating lots more background noise for you. NB The Evolve2 40s don’t have ACTIVE noise cancelling (technology to block out background noise for the user), you’ll need to go to the Bluetooth Evolve 75 or Evolve2 85 for that, but the ear cushions are excellent at making the noise around you fade away.It’s all very well having a fabulous headset but if it’s not comfortable to wear its just a cool ornament or desk clutter. No worries on that front; Jabra have added a wide, memory foam padded headband, so this along with the super-cushioned earcups mke it lovely to wear all day.Sick of being interrupted when you’re trying to concentrate? Evolve2s have a busy light on the front and back of the earcup, so colleagues in front AND behind can see if you’re on a call. Got a deadline to meet and don’t want to be bothered? You can can turn this light on with the touch of a button.Speaking of buttons, most USB corded headsets have a little control panel built into the cable. That can be annoying when it (inevitably) drops off your desk, the Evolve2 40s have put all that functionality back into the headset. There’s a mute button, volume + & – which double as jump forward or back track, play/pause, and of course an easy to find answer/hang up button. There’s other cool stuff – you can mute by pushing the mic up (and down to un-mute). The Teams button (if you select the MS Teams variant) allows you to join an active MS Teams calls when your headset is on.One thing to note is that unlike previous models, because of the curved design of the ear-cup (which gives you that great ergonomic fit to block out distractions) You can only wear the microphone on the right side (your right side).As you’d expect this premium headset from Jabra is suitable for use with all major softphones. It’s also Certified by Cisco, Avaya, Snom, Mitel, Yealink etc etc.
